Deadlines are extremely short !
Somewhere around two days.

No chance if you have to power off for the weekend ...

Is there a reason for this "restriction" ?

The tasks are designed to complete in about 15 minutes of active compute time. The 2-day deadline is generous for that — even with heavy suspending, it should be plenty. If a task does expire, credit is still granted for completed work. The short deadline also helps keep things clean since experiments rotate frequently.

So for the weekend I should just forget everything and be happy for the crunching time ?
The GPU tasks need at least around 20 to 35 minutes to complete.

What is considered "heavy suspending" ?

Please don't forget that we or at least me don't "run" 24/7/365 ...

GPU tasks run 20-35 minutes. When BOINC suspends a task (e.g. you start gaming), the task is stopped and your GPU memory is freed so your applications have full access to VRAM. When BOINC resumes, the task restarts. This is intentional — we prioritize freeing your system resources over preserving partial progress.

If you find tasks restarting too often due to frequent suspending, the best approach is to set your BOINC computing preferences to not run GPU tasks while the computer is in use. That way GPU tasks only run during idle time and complete uninterrupted.
